Legendary Student Program - The Legendary Blue Horizon is becoming well known for its services to the community through its Student and Young Adult Enrichment, Ready for Work and College Intern Programs. Students come from eight local high schools, University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, Temple University's Fox Business School and School of Tourism and Hospitality-Sports Management Program. You can be a supporter of these programs with your tax-deductible gifts.
Barbara C. Peek Scholarship Fund - In memory of Barbara C. Peek, Former Vice President of NIA KUUMBA the non-profit organization and Learning Center of The Legendary Blue Horizon, the family and The Legendary Blue Horizon has decided to establish the Barbara C. Peek Scholarship Fund. Since one of her interests was the development of youth and young adults, we envision using the principal of the fund to assist young people in furthering their development by believing in and pursuing their entrepreneurial spirit as she did. Contributions can be made to The Barbara C. Peek Scholarship Fund c/o The Legendary Blue Horizon, 1314-16 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19121. All contributions are tax deductible.
Ready for Work - assists in developing skills in preparation for the real world of work. Emphasis is given to resume development, on the job training, and money management
Social Services - offers Social Service to people who often feel threatened and apprehensive about leaving their community for services. Some of these services include youth enrichment, counseling, developing coping skills and information and referral for dealing with violence.
Training - provides training and employment opportunities to an under employed population.
Entertainment - creates a viable entertainment, cultural, and social facility for the community.
Entrepreneurs - provides opportunities to showcase and support new artists and entrepreneurs.
After School - creates a variety of after school programs for local youth in an effort to provide a positive environment.
